This remarkable reprint, originally published just after World War II, contains two first hand accounts of Mauthausen concentration camp, Austria, where more than 100,000 people were killed. The first is by Franz Zieres who narrates his experiences as commandant of Mauthausen. The second is by Charles-Heinz Pilarski, a soldier in the German army who was court-marshalled and imprisoned in the camp. These memoirs, along with photographs taken upon the liberation of the camp, are a chilling record of the Final Solution.
