Operation Goodwood was the largest tank assault in the Normandy
campaign, as over 700 tanks in three British armoured divisions
attempted to break out of the Bocage country. Rommel, his forces
armed with over 200 tanks including Tiger I and Tiger IIs, plus more
than 75 dreaded 88mm guns, tore apart Montgomery's plans. Soon the
wheatfields ran red with blood and burned with hundreds of British
tanks. The author describes in detail the bloody and vicious
fighting that characterised the operation. The text is supported by
over 150 photos, many previously unpublished, plus detailed battle
maps and 4 pages of colour AFV profiles

OSPREY WARRIOR 38:
FALLSCHIRMJAGER GERMAN PARATROOPER 1935-45
by Bruce Quarrie & Velimir Vuksic (Illustrator)
Few combatants of
World War II have captured the imagination as compulsively as the
Fallschirmjäger. Boldness and courage were vital characteristics
in their rigorous selection process and training. Hitler's
airborne troops were involved in some of the most daring actions
of World War II, from the 1940 assault on Eben Emael and the
invasion of Crete in 1941, to the rescue of Mussolini and the
attempt on Tito's life. They also saw service as elite infantry in
the key theatres of North West Europe, North Africa and the
Eastern Front.

Hitler's V-weapons were the technological miracles that the Nazi
dictator believed would win the war for Germany. In extraordinary
feats of civil engineering, hundreds of launch sites and bunkers
were built across northern France from which to unleash armegeddon
on Britain. The Germans even planned and tested a two-stage
intercontinental rocket which could have threatened America. This
is the first comprehensive history of the Nazi V1, V2 and
'Super-Gun' weapons sites. A comprehensive gazetteer reveals what
is left to see today of these massive structures, both above and
below ground.
